With a powder coated finish (black), the winch has a high gloss look that's also chip resistant and made from aluminum (cast, alloy housing). The remote for this winch has actually been redesigned to help withstand harsh or severe weather conditions and rough terrains. The hand held remote has an LED display and the operator can use the motor mounted temperature sensory information. A 3 stage gear train, (planetary), and motor that's series would help to ensure durability.
